Who can join the APB?
You can join the APB if you are a permanent member of staff employed by a banking group, building society or other financial institution and are currently directly involved in lending to the commercial and/or residential property sectors or are contributing to the lending decisions of your employer (in these sectors) as your main area of responsibility.

The APB is run by a Board, elected annually at the AGM in October. Existing members are encouraged to join the Board if they feel they would like to contribute to the running of the APB and are able to give up a few hours of their spare time each month to help organise events, produce the quarterly Newsletter and/or contribute to the website.

Why should I join the APB?
The Association of Property Bankers provides a forum for active participants in the commercial property lending market to keep abreast of developments in the industry and in the wider property markets. It offers members regular opportunities for further education, networking and socialising.

The APB also has a voice in the wider property market, working closely with organisations such as the BPF, IPF, RICS, de Montfort University and the Bank of England Property Forum to further the interests of its members and the property lending industry as a whole.

Educational
The educational element is provided via a series of seminars throughout the year, presented by leading individuals from a variety of property-related professions. There is also an annual half day Seminar in September, co-hosted by the Estates Gazette, featuring speakers on a theme of topical interest to property lenders.

Networking
Networking opportunities are provided through regular social events such as an annual Drinks Party, a New Members' lunch and a Pub Quiz, culminating in the hugely popular Annual Dinner in November. In recent years members have also experienced the 'locking-up' ceremony at the Tower of London, an evening at Ronnie Scott's, a Ladies' Fashion Evening and several wine tasting events. Members are encouraged to put forward ideas for social events by contacting the Events Secretary.

How do I join the APB?
If you are interested in joining the APB the application form is below. You can fill in the form online, print it and send it accompanied with payment to the membership secretary, or you can print it and fill it in by hand and then send it with your payment.

Your completed form should be countersigned by an existing member and returned to the Membership Secretary together with your cheque for £90 (£25 joining fee + £65 annual membership fee), payable to "The Association of Property Bankers".

If you do not know any current APB members, please contact the Membership Secretary for further assistance.

Your application will be considered at the next monthly Board meeting and you will be notified by the Membership Secretary shortly thereafter.

Should you have any questions about the APB or the membership criteria, please feel free to contact any member of the Board.
