Pumphrey brings experience to Mayfair Capital

07.05.10 Mayfair Capital Investment Management has appointed Ned Pumphrey as investment director and head of transactions
Pumphrey (left) will join from Belfast-based Deramore Property Group, whose London office he has been running for 13 years. Pumphrey He will chair Mayfair Capital’s internal investment committee and act as the main interface with the UK property market for buying, selling and selecting stocks for the funds and advisory mandates managed by the firm. He will also work closely with Catherine Candler, director of asset management. “This senior appointment confirms our ambitions to take the business to a new level,” said Mayfair’s fund director and co-founder, James Thornton. Mayfair Capital was formed in June 2002 as an independent property fund management business designed to serve charities, private investors and pension funds. It manages £180m in four pooled funds and has a further £30m of advisory mandates. Its flagship fund, the Property Income Trust for Charities (PITCH), was the best-performing fund in the Association of Real Estate Funds All UK Balanced Pooled Funds Index last year. PITCH returned 9.2% in 2009, compared with the index return of -1.8%.
