Andrew Goodbody
   
 

Andrew Goodbody started his banking career with Barclays in the late 1980s and has been involved in the commercial property finance sector since 1993. He has worked for a number of international banks including Handelsbanken, Credit Lyonnais (now Calyon), West Immo and Erste Bank and is now General Manager, Head of DG HYP’s London office.

DG HYP (Deutsche Genossenschafts-Hypothekenbank AG) is the largest German mortgage bank within the co-operative sector and is the property finance centre of excellence for the DZ Bank Group. With its head office in Hamburg, DG HYP provides finance for commercial real estate in Germany, UK, USA, France, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. 

Andrew’s role at DG HYP London primarily involves the origination, evaluation and structuring of new financing proposals involving commercial property located in the UK. The DG HYP London team also assists UK investors seeking to finance commercial property in other markets where the Bank is active. DG HYP London focuses on bilateral, club and syndicated real estate lending business.   

Andrew joined the APB committee in October 2004 having been a member since 1998. He was APB Treasurer from October 2005 until October 2008, when he took over the Presidency.

Andrew is married with two children and lives in Caterham, Surrey. His interests include golf, scuba-diving and playing guitar.
