Until December 2007, David Penston was a Director of Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander and head of the bank's London Core Property Team. Prior to this he spent his formative years at Charterhouse Bank and Hill Samuel.

In 2008 David jumped the fence to join a German developer, Garbe Group, as a consultant on banking and financial matters. A few grey hairs have persuaded Garbe and other property contacts to seek his general counsel and assistance in structuring and raising bank and equity finance.

David sits on many pan-industry bodies including the RICS Property Forum and the Bank of England Property Forum as part of his duties for the APB.

David's interests include tennis and golf, he is married with two children and lives in South London.
